Who Understood? Something Known as Dorothy and also the Ghouls of Oz looks like it's Opening Friday
Can't watch for Mike Raimi's star-studded, mega-budget Oz: The Truly Amazing and Effective? What about a minimal-budget, modern-day twist around the L. Frank Baum classic featuring Dorothy like a children's book author (and Kansas transplant, natch) in Manhattan and co-starring Lance Henriksen, Billy Boyd and Christopher Lloyd? Oh. Well anyway, here's the most recent on Dorothy and also the Ghouls of Oz, the erstwhile little-seen small-series that by all looks a few days ago should be a little-seen theatrical release. Author-director Leigh Scott's film apparently has one of the most roundabout broadcast/distribution records associated with a recent movie (save for Margaret, possibly), and can finally arrived at theaters Friday. By "theaters," I am talking about "four venues in Arizona," with three more to follow along with February. 24 in Kansas and Kentucky. The film itself, meanwhile, seems pretty deeply New york city-centric -- because no a person's ever enforced that twist around the Oz legend before: It will type of look much better than What This Means Is War, right? As well as in "glorious 2D"! Well-performed, team. Arizona, you're in luck! [via Large Hollywood]
