'Dubuque' to exchange 'Egg'

Off Broadway's Signature Theater has pressed back its world preem staging of recent Edward Albee play "Lounging an Egg," changing it having a revival of Albee's "The Woman From Dubuque" toplined by Jane Alexander. The Albee offering is area of the selection which will launch the Signature's new $60 million facility, opening in Feb. Delay from the new title allows the scribe to carry on to operate around the play, that the Signature intends to produce inside a future season. Little-seen "Dubuque," to become helmed in the Signature by David Esbjornson, ("Driving Miss Daisy," "The Goat, or Who's Sylvia?") bowed on Broadway inside a short 1980 run. More lately, Maggie Cruz toplined a 2007 West Finish production. Story focuses on the appearance of the mysterious older lady and her companion in a gathering of three youthful couples. Alexander, last on Broadway within the 1998 play "Recognition" and seen Off Broadway last year outing "Chasing after Manet," will have the title role. "Dubuque" will be provided included in the Signature's number of productions from scribes who've formerly presented entire seasons of work on the organization. Other shows around the 2012 slate include three from Athol Fugard, such as the Gotham preem of "The Train Driver," in addition to new plays by Katori Hall, Will Eno and Kenneth Lonergan.
